Energy production through hydro plants is the number one form of energy generation world wide. There are both small and large scale hydro constructed throughout the world While large scale projects require dams and flooding of large areas of land, properly designed small scale hydro (less than 10MW) can easily be fitted into the local ecosystem.

Regarding small scale hydro, it is estimated that around the world there is a 47,000MW installed capacity and 180,000MW more of technically and economically feasible potential. The vast majority of small scale hydro are “run of river” schemes, which means that energy is only produced when the water is available and there are no dams built.

At CERSA we are mainly focused at developing run of river hydro projects. This way we generate energy with the least amount of environmental impacts as possible.
